June 10 & 24
10 am – 3 pm
All Hands on Deck is a two-session workshop that will help you assess your current volunteer program and plan for its future. Susan J. Ellis, president of Energize, Inc. and an expert on non-profit volunteering, will fill you in on national and regional trends. Susan Randolph, executive director of the Marshall Steam Museum and Friends of Auburn Heights, Inc., will share her experiences working to “grow” an established volunteer program. In the first session, you will receive a homework assignment, a detailed questionnaire that will help you assess your current program. In the second meeting, we will discuss what you learned, and we’ll work together on activities including writing volunteer job descriptions and application forms and planning for a new volunteer handbook.
